Royal Ahrend, HAY and Edward van Vliet will be embarking on a unique collaboration for the Salone del Mobile 2017.During the design fair, which takes place in Milan from 4th to 9th April, the brands will be responsible for the layout of the courtyard of the Palazzo Francesco Turati. It will be the best place to meet in Milan for the design professionals who come from all over the world to exchange ideas and to network.
This will be the second year that Ahrend will be participating in the exhibition Masterly – The Dutch Pavilion. Masterly is a presentation during the Salone del Mobile of the best design and craftsmanship that the Netherlands has to offer. The exhibition takes place in the historic Palazzo Francesco Turati in the centre of Milan. Visitors will be welcomed in the courtyard of the Palazzo, which will be specially laid out by Royal Ahrend, HAY and Edward van Vliet. The courtyard is the ideal starting point for exploring the Palazzo and the other exhibitions in the city.
Visitors to the courtyard will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Result chair and the Pyramid collection designed by Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld for Ahrend and relaunched together with HAY. Thanks to the timeless design, the icons are still relevant and versatile today and can be used in work and retail situations, in restaurants, bars and at home or school.
Exclusive architects’ breakfast
Ahrend, HAY, Edward van Vliet, Brand van Egmond and Desso will also be organising an exclusive breakfast session for architects. It will take place on 6th April in the courtyard of Masterly – The Dutch Pavilion and is by invitation only. During the event, Rolf Hay will talk about the genesis of the collaboration with Royal Ahrend, followed by a private tour of the Masterly exhibition by the curator Nicole Uniquole.
