Triton , the owner of the well known office chair manufacturer Flokk (formerly known as Scandinavian Business Seating) plans the acquisition of Giroflex Holding AB , which is the holding that owns office chair company Stoll Giroflex. According to the German Magazine Euwid Möbel , Triton informed the Swiss competition authority the 8. of June about their plans.
Dr. Frank Forster, CEO of Giroflex, whishes not to give any details about the planned acquisition, but says to Euwid he expects the transaction to be completed in July.
200 employees at Giroflex – turnover unknown
Giroflex has about 200 employees, of which 20 are working in the countries the company exports to. Among the exportcountries are Belgium, France, Germany and The Netherlands. The current turnover is unknown, although recent comments indicate that the turnover is steady in the recent years.
According to the latest information from European Branch Organisatie FEMB , the turnover in 2011 was approx. € 65 million.
I personally think, if the acquisition succeeds, Triton will do the same with Giroflex as Flokk did with their latest acquisitions: The company stays as independent brand in the Flokk family. The combined turnover makes the company the largest office chair manufacturer in Europe
