Two weeks ago we published an article containing the market size of a large amount of countries in the EU, based on the FEMB/Eurostat reports. Today it´s time for the metal office furniture market.
The Eurostat information
FEMB collects data from European statistics agency Eurostat
Their report contains three product groups:
- Swivel Chairs
- Wooden office furniture
- Metal office furniture
For each group following data is published, per country
- Exportvalue
- Importvalue
- Production quantity
- Production Value
Based on those information, the market size of a specific country can be determined.
The Netherlands has a market size for metal office furniture of € 125.9 million. This is determined as follows:
- Production Value (119,6 miljoen) + Import Value(40,1 miljoen) – Total Export (33,8 miljoen) = Market Size (125,9 miljoen)

Notes
- Not all countries are completely represented in the EUROSTAT database. Mostly because the production value in the country is unknown, or undiscosed. Those countries are blanked out in the map.
- Total market size for the European Union in 2016 based on the same calculation method : € 1,96 miljard
