After working for months in his workshop and days of drawing and calculating Roelof Langius goes with his brand Filex Workspace Solutions to a beautiful booth at the Orgatec. His company Filex expects to gain high interest with the monitor arm the company developed entirely in-house. From Tuesday on, Filex can be found in Cologne in Hall 8 stand 007.
The work of years in one modular design
Roelof Langius started years ago with In2brands: A company that specialized in supplying ergonomic tools and electrification for the office environment. Often In2brands acted as the importer and took care of the contacts with, and deliveries to, the resellers and end-users in the business market. But despite the growth in recent years, Roelof always had the idea that he could make a better monitor arm than was available in the market at that time. “I have always been fascinated by ergonomics. How can we improve our posture, and how can I contribute to this. The idea for a new monitor arm has occurred to me years ago. I knew what that arm should be able to do, but realizing it has been a long process. Behind my house I went to work in my workshop night after night to make a prototype that met my requirements. On the one hand, the arm had to be modular and provide an answer to every customer request with as few components as possible and on the other hand the arm should have no restrictions in freedom of use “
Langius continues “A few months ago I had a breakthrough for a few parts of this new arm. We came up with a solution for a number of bottlenecks. After anexternal examination of our solution, it turned out to be unique and we also received a patent right away “
Introduction at the Orgatec
The past few months have been hectic. Not only did the production process have to be set in motion, with prior preparation of the final drawings, a lot of communication with the manufacturers , developing molds and testing the prototypes. Also the circular guarantee also had to be developed. Convinced of the quality of his product, a 5-year guarantee is given. Filex is aiming for an international market in Cologne. ” We are looking for net partnerships with international and regional resellers. Attending the Orgatec as an exhibitor is the ideal possibility for this ”
Today the new website of Filex was lauched , and also a new phase in the life of Langius. The introduction of the Galaxy monitorarm is a fact and a long cherished wish is fulfilled. “I am very proud that we now have a beautiful demo case with 12 components with which we can make almost infinite combinations that provide almost every customer demand with a solution. In addition, I firmly believe in modular solutions as a contribution to a sustainable society. The ease with which you can integrate new audio-visual developments by exchanging a compenent, without making whole product worthless will lead to less waste in the future. “Yes, Langius concludes, I can say that I am looking forward to next week in Cologne “
