The French furniture maker Majencia is for sale. The furniture manufacturer who was granted a deferment of payment at the end of last year is unable to continue to exist independently. Interested parties have until 15 April to submit a proposal, as can be read on the site of FHB, Administrators Judiciaires Associés.
The summary information shows that parent organization Majencia SA realized a turnover of € 110 million in 2017 with an EBITDA loss of € 2 million. In 2018, revenue fell to € 95 million with a loss that amounted to € 5 million. In addition to the parent company, Majencia WAY also exists, where the cabinets were produced with 74 employees. The turnover of Majencia WAY amounted to € 4.9 billion in 2018.
Ahrend hires group of Majencia employees
The total workforce after reorganization is 415 employees. Moreover, the announcement does not say that the Netherlands’ largest office furniture manufacturer Ahrend cleverly hired a large group of former Majencia employees last month, thereby quadrupling its presence on the French market.
