With effect from the end of October 2019, Carl-Christoph Held will cease his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors at König + Neurath AG and leave the company of his own volition.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors at König + Neurath AG, Carl-Christoph Held, has decided to embark on a new career path outside the office furniture industry, and will leave the company as of 31st October 2019 by mutual agreement. The Supervisory Board agreed to Mr Held’s request for premature termination of his contract mutually and on amicable terms.
Spirit of trust and constructive attitude
It is important to both parties to emphasise that cooperation – between the supervisory board and Mr Held, as well as within the management board – has always been characterised by a spirit of trust and a constructive attitude, forming a basis for the company’s successful development both then and now. Mr Held took the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors in April 2011, and worked as a team with his immediate colleagues and the rest of the staff to continue the company’s positive development, strengthen the market position and increase turnover as well as profits.
Mr Held continues: “I’m beyond grateful to the Supervisory Board for their confidence in me, as well as the responsibility they have given me in various business areas over the past eight years. Achieving goals together is one of the company’s strengths. Nevertheless I want to change my career now, and I wish the company only the best. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my immediate colleagues and the rest of the team, and of course our customers, for the trust they have placed in me.”
“Ideally placed to continue our upwards curve”
Otmar Stein, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, made the following comment on the departure of Carl-Christoph Held: “This is Mr Held’s personal choice, and we regret his decision. We would like to thank Mr Held for the very successful cooperation over the past 8 years, and wish him continued success and all the best for his professional and personal future.
The crucial course is set for the company’s long-term orientation. In 2019 our position has been above average compared with the general market development. With a robust accounting and finance structure, the company is ideally placed to continue on this upward curve. Until we make a new appointment to the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors / Sales and Marketing Director, Mr Dirk Offermanns will take interim responsibility at director level for National Sales and Key Account business.
In line with our ethos as a family-run business, Mr Ludwig König, who has been with the company since October 2015, grandson of the recently deceased Egon König, will take over the management responsibility for national operations in the role of General Operations Director Germany for all business areas as of January 2020. Mr König, who has been an Authorised Signatory since March 2019, has been running the seating division very successfully for some years, and has managed to increase the market share.
