Scandinavian Business Seating continues to grow and includes a new focus area of designer furniture for office environments through the acquisition of Swedish Offecct AB. Today, Scandinavian Business Seating (SB Seating) has agreed to acquire 100% of the shares in Swedish Offecct AB, including subsidiaries.
Offecct is a renowned manufacturer of furniture for lounge and office environments with emphasis on durable, functional and attractive design. The company’s production is based on a local craft tradition combined with new furniture technology, with a vision to create furniture that inspires and creates the modern meeting place.
Perfect match with SB Seating
“We are genuinely proud that Offecct wants to become part of the SB Seating group. Offecct, with its philosophy, corporate culture and designer furniture, is a perfect match with SB Seating and our office seating,” says CEO Lars Røiri of SB Seating.
“We are a strong force together as our portfolios complement each other very well. Offecct’s attractive product portfolio and strong brand has great potential in all of SB Seating’s markets. At the same time Offecct holds a strong position in the lounge and environment furniture segment, which is a product area SB Seating wants to focus on going forward. Offecct is very good at furnishing modern meeting places and lounges. It will be a platform for the continued extension of SB Seating’s product range, and will allow us to take a larger view of the entire workplace and modern office settings“ Røiri continues.
Management of Offecct will continue to head the company
The Offecct group’s revenues were SEK 156 million in 2016, shared between sales in Scandinavia, France, the UK and other markets in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North and Central America. Production takes place at the company’s 20,000 square metre factory in Tibro, Sweden. Kurt Tingdal and Anders Eklund, who established Offecct in 1990, will continue to head and develop the company.
“As the owner, SB Seating will enhance our opportunities for further growth and development in the form of geographical expansion, and I believe that with their strength in the market, we will have the best assumptions to reinforce and develop the brand internationally,” says Kurt Tingdal, CEO of Offecct.
