Kinnarps GmbH reopened the Kinnarps Competence Center Berlin Spreespeicher after a conversion period of around six months. The extraordinary location with a direct view on the River Spree has been completely redesigned. A forward-looking concept was implemented that follows the principles of Next Office and Activity Based Working.
The Competence Center in a listed warehouse offers visitors a vivid impression of a modern office landscape with different work areas on two floors. Instead of a furniture exhibition, visitors and users experience High-Focus Workstations, Personal Workstations or a Homebase for Concentrated Work. Examples of touch-down zones, collaboration areas and project zones show how teams can be supported today in their respective activities. Different sized meeting rooms, creative workplaces and a library make it clear which parts a modern office environment adapted to the requirements of New Work can offer to people. The concept also includes a regeneration area, lounge areas and a canteen. In their daily work, the Kinnarps team actively uses the Next Office.
Sauna benches and a show kitchen
At the same time, the Competence Center can be used as an event- and conference space for internal and external events. Sauna benches with the river Spree as a backdrop form the auditorium in front of the presentation area. A show kitchen completes the concept. The succesful reopening was celebrated recently with a party that was attended by about 120 guests.
