VDB is the largest manufacturer in the Netherlands producing and supplying project and education furniture and has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Nomique Seating Ltd. Nomique designs and produces task chairs and soft seating with fresh contemporary designs and distributes through a selected dealer network. The acquisition was announced yesterday at the Orgatec where both companies at the booth of Vepa, part of the VDB Group.
Brand identity of Nomique remains
“We are proud of the fact that Nomique is going to be part of the VDB Group. Our first goal is that Nomique dealers take advantage of the portfolio of VDB brands.” Director International Paul Zuidema says. “The Nomique brand and identity will remain unchanged and our wish is to develop Nomique into a complete turnkey supplier. We have a proven track record to successfully develop strong independent companies such as Vepa, Drentea,
EromesMarko and Be by Bèta. And that is exactly what is intended: a “strong Nomique.”
Advantages for Dutch customers
The two Nomique director-shareholders, John Ravenhall and Nigel Barker, will continue their current roles as Directors. John Ravenhall: “Besides a wide product portfolio, VDB also bring a great deal of knowledge in terms of design, production techniques, sustainability and IT. The VDB Group is extremely advanced when working with sustainable materials, we can take a leading position in the U.K. market.” Paul Zuidema: “Clearly there are also opportunities for Nomique in the Netherlands. The VDB Group is a strong group of manufacturers of education and project furniture with an annual turnover of 70 million euro, employing 380 employees that work in 4 Dutch production sites in Emmen, Hoogeveen, Wijchen and Breda. Through the acquisition of Nomique another 40 employees will join the group.
